I am so glad that summer is finally here! This could be the best summer that The Raven Welch Band could experience! I am terrbily sorry that I have not been able to update the site for a while, so let's catch up!
In February we made an appearance on the Morgan Cantrell HeartFund Show in Ellijay, GA. It was LIVE on ETC 3, and we had a great time. The HeartFund is always a wonderful place for pickin', singin', friends, and it's for a great cause!
March was a month of preparation! Also, it was a month that required most of my time to be dedicated to studying! But that's ok...March flew by quickly!
April was fun! On the 4th, we were not to far from home, but in Dalton, GA at the Southeast High School. This was our second year playing there, and it was better than the first! It was a pleasure to see familiar faces like the Barker Brothers. They are always a treat! On April 10th, we faced one of the worst storms I have ever been in in my life! We drove through heavy rain, thunder & lightening, and HAIL on our way to the Ringgold Depot for their night of Sacred Sounds; Sacred Sounds was hosted by Randall Franks! He was very kind and we enjoyed pickin' with him onstage that night! It was also such a pleasure to see many Shriner's from the area there. And of course, I had my Spring Break that month and it went by very fast. Ha-ha. Also, Easter was in April and it was beautiful! I really enjoyed spending the time with my family and of course celebrating what Easter is really about-The Resurrected Savior Jesus Christ! Yes, He is alive today!
Last but not least, May brings us up-to-date! The first weekend, we went to Townsend, TN for their Old Timer's Weekend! We had a blast pickin'! Although we didn't do a stage show, we jammed all day and most of that night! Townsend is always so much fun! I can't wait until the festivities begin again in September. The following weekend was my Junior Prom! I had such a great time with all of my friends :) On May 16th, we were hidden away in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains pickin' on the Toccoa River at a lovely outdoor wedding! We had a great time and would like to say Congratulations to Patrick & Melissa! :) And finally, on Memorial Day, we appeared at Oakman School in Oakman, GA. Even though it was boiling hot, we made it through the show and had a great time jamming with all of our friends afterwards! Special thanks to Mr. Bobby Childers for inviting us to the festival! It is always an honor to play there!
